As a “Community focused” provider, Maryhill is committed to ongoing education of those around us through personal interactions during programs directed toward Seniors and their families, students considering careers in health sciences, or those grade school students who learn from their Elders through our intergenerational programming during the school year.
Maryhill is committed to promoting education to other professionals in our community, and have sponsored speakers who provide sessions for outside professionals such as our law enforcement, fire fighters, and rescue worker seminars by the Alzheimer’s Association on ways to best approach and assist the Alzheimer’s victim in the community.
We are a clinical site for Bay College West’s Nursing program, Northeast Wisconsin Technical College’s Niagara based LPN program and Nursing Assistant program, and are the local site for their Dementia Care certification program.
Please see the ElderTips tab on this Website for downloadable articles of interest to many Seniors and their families. Through these Elder Tips we are happy to provide information which may be helpful to you. Feel free to Contact Us if there are any other questions you may have.
Maryhill’s Team is also available for Speaking engagements for local civic groups, Senior Centers, and Senior Living environments, discussing topics of interest from our Speakers Topics or those requested by the groups.
Some of our more recent presentations include:
- Guardianships and Durable Power of Attorney
- Meal Preparation for One
- Activities and the Alzheimer’s Victim at Home
- Spread of Infection and Handwashing
- Resident Directed Care
- Return to the Community: Friends and Family Responses
